Well it has 167,000 very hard miles on it to start with and is beginning to have som problems. on of the main ones is sometimes it will act like it is only running on a couple of cylinders. it starts shake he entire truck, and it was only when i stomped it but it will do it anytime now. I dont hink it is engine related though becaue it only does it when it is in gear. Transmission mabey, because it is also acting up and can not decide what gear to go into sometimes if you are taking it easy. if anybody knows bout what this thing may be doing please let me know. if not, i will either sell it or 318 swap!!!!

but mine does that taking off too, until you get up over 2grand it will shake and sputter. I think it has something to do with the timing chain. but I'm goin for the 318 swap in the summer so as long as it lasts till then

 

Could be a bad kick down cable or a clogged injector if it's EFI or if it's carbbed, the needle could losen causing a rich mixture.

 

How much do you have to do to go 318. If i can get one out of another truck with the computer and tans. what else what do i need and does the wiring have to be changed.

 

since yours is a 96 it will probly be alot harder. I would find a wrecked dak with a 318. then you will have all the parts.
