yes there is a fix. first off never pay 400 for another ecm. secondly like the last user said use a external voltage regulator. i have the same excact truck with the same exact problem and thats what we did we rewired the alt to use a external voltage regulator that we mounted on the fire wall. granet it will still have a trouble code in the computer cause it thinks it isnt charging but it will work and will charge the battery if you need help let me know i can show you how it was done and what wires to use. you can also email me at 93explorer @ gmail DOT com.
How about if you put a resistor into series with the computer so it sees some resistance and thinks it is charging? Just a thought.
Never ran an external voltage regulator with a computer with a gasser, but did it on my old 1992 dodge d250 w/ a cummins in it. It also through a check engine light for the same reason, always wondered if the above solution would work.
