98 Dakota 5 speed conversion flywheel sensor issue
Hello,
I'm currently halfway in the process of swapping my 1998 Dakota 3.9L auto to a 5 speed trans. The 5 spd transmission is from a 1988 3.9L Dakota. After removing the auto trans from the '98, I noticed a Flywheel sensor and wires that came through the bellhousing with square holes in the flex plate. I checked the flywheel i have from the 88 and i didn't see any evidence of any sensor.
So I was thinking of getting a flywheel from a newer Dakota and using the same sensor. I found one for 1993, but I'm not sure if it has the same sensor setup on the flywheel. I was hoping someone here would know what i could do.
Thanks for the help, John

Yes I would suggest to get a 98 Dakota 3.9 manual transmission fly wheel and crank sensor. I'm not to sure if the 93 is the same as the 98, they should be very similar. I would check www.autozone.com or www.napaonline.com to see if the part numbers are the same.
