Fuel pump
So this weekend was interesting. While visiting my Girlfriend about 40 minutes away from where I live, I get in the truck to head home and the truck runs for about 2 blocks then starts backfiring, and losing power. It comes out of it then just dies. So I pull over and take the air cleaner off. It starts and run for a few seconds then dies. Then wont start again. Feels like a fuel issue so I tap the fuel filter with a hammer and it starts right up and I drive it back to the apartment. I borrow her car to go buy a new filter, put it on and same issue. I am truly one of the luckiest guys in the world as my GF buys a new pump for me. Next day my dad comes down with a car dolly and pulls me into his shop. Lift up the bed and I take a look at the new pump from oreillys. Its a CARTER!! Just like the old one. We swap out the old for the new and even manage to get a new starter put on this weekend as well. I was completely thrilled when we were able to switch out both parts in less than a day. It was my dads idea to unbolt and lift the bed up rather than dropping the tank. I am so thankful for the people in my life and their never ending ability to shower me with inspiration and support.

BTW, if anyone else runs into the problem that we did where the plastic retaining clips holding the fuel lines onto the pump break, the replacement part number in the help section is 800-015 NOT 800-23. Runs about $3.99 available at autozone.
Ya thanks Fox just rub it in! Just kidding! I Just got a friend to help me lift it. Its not to bad. We just sat it donw on some wood horses.

helped a friend drop a half full tank w/ a few blocks of wood and an autojack... what a PIA
i think the worst part was the tank straps, one end locks into the frame, and the other bolts up. we had to bend it all to hell and deal with the tank... oy one of the worst things ive had the pleasure of helping with lol
when mine goes ima pull the bed as well...
