Skid Plate Modification Pics!
Yesterday I went out just for a quick trip offroading. I came up to a crazy angle hill. Not to bad. But when crawling it I got a loud Bang Bang sound. Turns out the drive shaft yoke is hitting the skid plate. So I had to get out the screwdriver and make enough clearance for now.
Before!!
It is hard to see but it is too close to the drive shaft.
After!!
I cut and bent up wards the sides, to still protect it. The only bad thing it may trap water and cause rust. But here in NM it don't matter! Also the plate is mounted up to the brace by some adhesive. So I welded them together to get it a little stronger.
Here is one just for the fun of it. A quick test run of the winch.

Well IFS has held up GREAT for all the $hit I put it through. And trust me I do alot.
By the way I expect plenty of offroading pics and trail badge scratches out of you Brian. You better not make it a Mall cruiser.

Mall cruiser?!?! But there's too high a chance of getting door dings at the mall!! Nope... she's gonna be a garage queen!! (oh wait... she won't clear the garage door when I'm done :P)
JUST KIDDING!!! As soon as my truck is on the road and has 4 wheel drive again, its going straight to Uwharrie Natl Park and hitting all the trails out there!
And it wasn't that the IFS was breaking that made me want to do the swap. I just realized the way I had the front suspension wound up so tight, that it was an uncomfortable ride and wasn't flexxing very well! All it was giving me was tire clearnance and nothing else. I mean just look at my sig pic... on a mound of dirt like that, the front wheel should be tucked!! It barely flexxed up at all. And forget downflex! It was already on the bump stops sitting on flat, level ground!
