Default HHR Fan Conversion

Well I finally got my HHR electric fan installed and thought id post some pics of the finished product.

While I was doing all the wiring for the fan controller I went ahead and cut the plug off the wire harness for the blower resistor and rewired it because the blower would stop working from time to time and the plug was melted at each connector and causing a bad connection.

You can see in the fan pics how close the fan is to the pulleys and the threaded shaft on the water pump for the clutch fan is actually sticking inside the electric HHR fan but is far enough away from the actual fan that it will not interfere with the HHR fan. I used the Hayden adjustable fan controller and wired in a override switch. I took the truck for a drive yesterday to test everything out and it kept the truck cool. It was 103°f with a heat index of 108°f. I ran the air-conditioning for the last half of the test drive and also let it sit and idle in driveway after I got back home to see if it would overheat if I got stuck in traffic and it done very well.

Lol I know. The whole time I was installing the fan I kept looking at that and thinking who would do that. Then I remembered who it was I bought the truck from lol I believe he could have made that show mountain men lmao.
