Once in a while it won't start!
Hello friends! I recently have had some trouble getting my 93 dakota 3.9 started. For the most part it starts just fine and runs great, but about twice a week it will not start. It dosen't matter if the engine is cold or warmed up. The engine cranks and its getting spark, but I am thinking that it's not getting fuel. I can also here the fuel pump turn on when I turn the key before starting. I changed the fuel filter in hopes that that might fix it. (It didn't). I am not sure if it has the correct fuel pressure or needs a new fuel pump. Any advice or comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

check your battery connections for corrosion or being loose. same with the wires. if those are good it sounds like the starter to me, you can get it out really easy and get it tested for free at napa or autozone.

Best thing right now fore ya spend too much $$ is have the fuel pressure tested.I had this issue once but mine would start but ran like ***.Came out to be the fuel regulator.BUT,was $80 less ya know where to get one cheaper.Like I said start with the cheaper test first and get the pressure tested.Fuel pressure calls for 44 to 54 psi.
Thank you for your input. I don't believe it is the starter motor because it will crank the motor but just won't fire because it is not getting fuel. I have never checked fuel pressure before and have no idea how to. Is there some special tool and where do I check it at? Thank you!
