Default D-Ring/Tow hook mount up and Hi-Lift jack "Pics"

When I did a body lift delete on the truck the tow hooks were basically in a terrible spot. I always wanted to mount up some D-ring/shackle mounts.

I fabbed up 2 D-Ring/Shackle mounts right where the Tow hooks bolted to. I used two 5/8in plate from 2 old ball mount hitches.

New D-Ring Shackle mounts to hold 3/4 D-Rings. All grade 8 1/2in bolts mounting the mount to the previous 3/8in frame mounts that I fabbed up for the use of the old tow hooks.

Old tow hooks
After with body lift un-installed, where the tow hooks were in an almost un-useable spot. With the body lift there was plenty of clearance.

Also I bought a Hi-Lift jack (brand name not the cheap "Farmers Jack") a week ago, today I fabbed up some mounts to bolt it down. Along with a cable and lock.

Just for fun I first tested the jack on the front push bar (Grill/Brush Guard).

Just incase anyone needs here are great tow hook links I got in the FAQ2.

Looks like it'll do the job. I need to get myself a hi lift sometime soon.

Also, you should add a shovel/board mount on the other side. Then you'll be gettin' unstuck every time.

I just have to say that you have a sexy truck, like goddam

But I like the hooks, they give it a more badass look

Thanks. When we go out to the mountains or just long offroading trips I normally take a shovel and other tools just in case. Also I got an army style foldable shovel under the back seats and tons of other tools just in case.

Thanks GreenDak22.
Ya hooks kinda look better, but from personal experience when your truck/life is on the line you don't want a line to slip off of the open end of the hook. The shackle encloses the line so no slipping off no matter what.
