Default Should I use the Rancho Lift

Hey All,
New on forum. Have had my Durango for about 5 years and haveput about 80kon it since I purchased it for the original owner. It now has 108k and still strong. Love it. I'm now thinking of giving it some attitude and altitude. I've been reading the forum for about a week and it looks like most of you are going with T/S and Body lifts.

Does anyone have a Rancho Lift? I've read that the Tuff Country Lift is not that great, but haven't heard anything about Rancho.

I'm thinking of doing the Rancho lift and a 3" body. Any suggestions would be great.

From what I know it is a solid lift, as are most rancho lifts but for the money I'd just go with one less inch and go for the t/s lift then you will have more $ for bigger tires which would give you more altitude anyway.

I know it's less expensive, I'm just concerned with the ride quality. It looks like the T/S lift will stiffen up the ride. Not only that, I also tow a boat. Will I have a problem with the t/s lift while towing?

You shouldn't have any problems but if it concerns you do an add-a-leaf on the rear rather than the shackles that would help give you more support for the boat anyway. Also throw on some bilstein shocks they will help with handling with and without a boat. It is a pretty stiff ride but is well worth it for the handling.

Hey Mean Green, thanks for the info.
So let me get this straight, your saying is should do the T/S lift in the front and add larger shackles in the rear without the add a leaf? I should get about 2" of lift this way and do a body lift for the additional 3"? 33s on oem rims should fit just fine.

You can either do the torsion/shackle lift or for more support for towing do the torsion bars up front with an add-a-leaf in the rear no need to do the shackles and leaf. 2" either route you take and then a 3" BL on top of that and you shouldn't have much in the way of 33's other than in tight turns and thats nothing a little trimming couldn't fix. Also the 33's would get you one inch over stock as well, 32's would get you an extra 1/2" over stock.

Sounds like a plan, thanks for the info. I'll be sure to post some pictures of the Durango and the Boat. ( I't looks great with the boat behind it now, can't wait to see it with the lift. )
