Default Fuel economy help

I sold my mom a 2001 Durango SLT with a 4.7 in it. I installed a Mopar Parts cold air kit, and put a Tornado in the tube. but I still need to gain a little more fuel economy. I realize that a Durango is not the best vehicle for fuel economy, but at least I got her out of the isuzu rodeo. Now I have to make up for it.

things that come to mind are autolite 3923 plugs, 8mm wires, 180 T-stat and upgrade the exhaust. that should help out a little more.

Thank you, I had a thought that I don't know about, can you get a different ignition system for a 4.7? I know MSD doesn't make any coils for it, does anyone know any company that does?

i own a 2000 with a 4.7 and the mialege sucks too. doing the few modifications you see on other posts will help but not by much, mabee another 2-3 mpg at best. you just gotta suck it up and accept it whick blows with the price of gas these days.
