2001 4.7L Sparkplug wire question
My 2001 4.7L Druago just turned over 70,000 miles and I was going to chagne some things out. I went to buy a "set" of spark plug wires today and the person at the parts counter said he would not replace these wires unless one specifically goes bad, and then just buy a new one to replace it, not an entire set.
He said since the coil in on top of each plug, it is only necessary to replace a wire if it fails.
Any thoughts on this one? Should I just keep the factory wires? I did change the spark plugs and went with the recommended Champion plugs.
Thanks.

As you noticed when you were changing the spark plugs it doesn't have typical spark plug wires. You can't just buy a box of wires and swap them. You have to replace that coil that sits on the spark plug. at more than $30 each, I don't think you want to replace them all just for the hell of it. Just do what the parts guy said and replace them as they go bad. The wires that lead to each coil come from the wiring harness and those are permanent.
