Transgo is the shift kit you want. I went to a modified version of the Transgo and had a custom valve body made along with Transgo's parts. I would recomend anyone in most everyday driving including towing, and race to go Transgo. I've dumped over $3000 in my trans but other people can do other things and still get great results. It just depends how far you want to go. Eather way get an oversized torque converter when doing you rebuild and pay the extra money to get it done right.
You can mod you IAT sensor.
There are a few other things you can do for cheap. If you want a little bit of lift you can do 2" by cranking the torsion bars up front (free) and shackles in the rear ($50), I was going to suggest a custom intake that gave me greater throttle response and more horsies for $45 but Idouble checked and see you already have an intake.
Since you are going for headers already I would also suggest a fastman TB (250ish) and programmer (Find a used one they range from 300-400 if I remember correctly).
