Sorry to hear it man. Our transmissions are our achilles heel in these thing, everything else is solid. I've had 3 rebuilds already. #2 and 3 were under warranty from #1

There really isn't much to these trany's. It's completely torn apart on the bench. I was really surprised at how easy it came apart
Didnt find any other problems after the disassembly, all the frictions look really good, I'll be replacing them anyway. Don't see a point in having it out and apart on the bench and not throwing some new parts at it.
Anyone done any upgrades they would recommend while it's the bench?
Wondering about the converter, as in what stall the factory one is vs what I should get.
Anyone tow with their D that's changed the converter? What stall did you go to?

I had the valve body modified/shift kit installed. I have a ~2200+stall.(crappy brand) I don't care to tow, more of a performance guy,but with the 4.10 gears it didn't have a problem. If I was to buy a "good" one I would get one from thefastman. If you tow alot & care about gas mileage, I wouldn't get a stall convertor.

I have a Fairbanks Shift kit to install, so got that taken care of.
I was thinking I would just stick with a stock stall at this point, just wanted to know if there was anything else that worked better.

Iam having problems between 3/4 shifts and am about to replace the governor pressure sensor and the solenoid. However I was reading this post about the input/output speed sensors and that there might be one located inside the tranny under the pan. Is this true? I pretty much just want to replace every bit of electronics while I'm in there. I know there's an external speed sensor on the back of the tranny but inside as well? What other electronics exist under the tranny oil pan? Thanks
