Default need help with a leak

My friend has a 2001 (i think) durango that they thought was leaking oil, i checked and never saw an engine so clean but the engine light did come on today. i did see some kind of oil looking stuff on the bottom differential near where the right cv shaft goes in. i guess there is supposed to be a seal there? can it just be replaced do i have to take the whole wheel and everything off what do you guys think?

One other thing assuming it is possibly an oil leak he noticed today the the Oil pressure gauge (does it have one? i never looked but he says it does) goes up when he turns the ac on or revs up the engine is that normal he never noticed it before.

First you need to get a light and take a better look at what is going on and were it is comming from.
Also your fluxuation you see is normal on the oil.

I bought some oil leak detection dye for $12 and a cheap light for it for $8. It helps find the leak 90% of the time unless it's really small. And as far as the oil near the right cv shaft, it's just a seal. I was lazy and had the stealership do mine.(pretty sure you have to take everything apart to do it)

It's like a black light. I think you have to remove the CV and then remove the seal. If you have a Haynes manual it will tell you how to do it. If the oil level is full and the oil pressure is good, I wouldn't worry about it.
