Default Thermal Fan Clutch?

I have a 2001 Durango with a 4.7-liter engine. I have a loud noise under my hood when I press the gas (around 2000 rpm and above) it sounds like the fan revs really high? I thought it was the thermal fan clutch. I had that replaced, but unless this one is also bad it’s making the same noise. Should the fan on the water pump run right off the bat or does it come on when the radiator gets hot? Mine comes on right now? Thanks for any help..

Hello, Just wanted to tell everyone I found a resolution to my problem. I took my Durango to the dealer on Friday and they said the new fan clutch was bad. Went to Pep Boy’s and they replaced their fan clutch with the one from Car Quest. Everything works fine now. Guess it hard to fix a problem with a bad part.

I had like 3 put on my 01 QC 4.7L in the 2 years I had it. The unit probably has gone bad again for the new owner I'm sure. It's a POS.
