Default Edelbrock Fuel Injected Intake 5.2/5.9

I've been waiting for this intake for months. It's finally ready and I don't have the cash...looks pretty impressive though! What do you guys think?

Wow, that looks nice.
Notice they didnt post the price with the aftermarket t body and fuel rails...

At the better part of a $1000.00 bill already......

Nice but for that kinda money I think I'll keep my keg.

I wonder if it's really good for the 3-4 mpg increase they claim.

I presntly get 14.4 mpg for a typcial tank load. So if it gave 3mgp that would be 20% improvement. Seems to big to be believed.

I think the price is a little high but the 2-4mpg is realistic. The way I drive I'll get -2 to -4mpg. You're going from a restricted intake that only flows 220CFM to a modifiedintake that flows 322CFM,air gap, reduced emissions, better injector spray angle, etc. Most people that buy stuff like this aren't hoping for better fuel mileage...more hp = more fun! If I had the cash, I would buy one today.

I can believe a 20% bump in mileage... when I had my 2000 Ram I ran the fuel thru a cooler, then passed it on to insulated (wrapped) fuel lines & rail preventing any heat soak from the motor. that netted me a 6% jump in mileage on the hiway. the install happend 1/2 way on a 2000 mile trip so I had plenty of good mileage data to compare against. couple that with a cold intake charge and you'd be even better off with more power.

How did you run your fuel cooler? (set up)

And do you still run it?

Nope, truck is gone. I had it setup so that I yanked off the fuel line going to the fuel rail, then ran fuel injection hose from the frame mount end to the cooler, then back to the rail. did a similar setup in 2 bmw's I had. I mounted all of them up front in front of the radiator. the big problem in doing that is your now putting gas right up there in front and if your in an accident, run the risk of a fire. a better way to do it would be to have a fan mounted cooler under the body and inside the frame rail. draw in cool air from the front and force it down to the fan to blow past the cooler. that way there is minimal risk.

I am planning this mod on my current '05 truck (diesel). Living in the Sacramento area, summers can get pretty warm, heatsoaking the fuel tank & all of the fuel in it. by putting a cooler between the pump & filter, I'll have taken all the heat out of the fuel and brought it back down to a reasonable temperature. should help some on mileage I'd think... or at least stop the spark knock I get when it's hot...

Just think, if the Dodge boys would have come up with this manifold as OEM back in its days, we would not be complaining as much about gas mileage and the 5.9 would have more HP/TQ to brag about!
