Roof Rack cross over bars
At the back by the hatch there are two stops one on each side secured by screws. Remove the screws and the stop is removed. Starting with the rear bar unlock it and slide it down the track until it is removed. Unlock the second bar and slide it down. Once removed re-install the stops with the screws and you are all set.
On my 2003, I had (Well actually the Service Adviser and mech who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.) had to Remove the set screws, re-position the rack to the new location then insert the set screws in
the old rack location.Took about 10 minutes but it worked. It may be a reason why I don't use the roof rack. Good Luck!!

so the buttons on the side of the roof rack cross over bars does nothing? Them cross over bars them selves cannot come off by pushing them buttons? I do not want to slide them out the back, i just want to remover the bars for now.
so the buttons on the side of the roof rack cross over bars does nothing? Not true, they are used to lock the bars in different palces.
Them cross over bars them selves cannot come off by pushing them buttons? No they are used to re-position the bars in different places
I do not want to slide them out the back, i just want to remover the bars for now. Unfortunately that is the only way to remove the bars, is to slide them out the back. The can be re-installed at any time following the reverse procedure.

No dents no rust or major scratches. It also has vent shades, cold air intake and chrome running bars down the sides <all on it when i got it. Was this a really good deal? It has 109,000 miles on it.
