idle problems please help asap
i have a 99 D 5.9 slt. i havent had any major problems from it besides replacing the battery and of course the window regulator. recently my durango decided it doesnt wanna idle . this is only occasilnly like 3out of 4 time i have no issues. then it will crank over and die immeditaly. if i give it gas it will stay going but once u let off the gas it is done. no issues other than that please help.
il check out what u said mean green thanks. btw we should go in the mountinas sometime man im in carson always looking for a good offroading buddy. should i just take it to a shop and have them check it out. it hasnt popped any check engine lights at me. the charging system is fine just had that all checked when the battery died. turns out it was still the oe battery and its a 99 so it was bound to die.
Durangokid, if you can do those things yourself then you should just do it. Pull the plugs first and see how they look, then pull off the airhat at the TB and look down there after that the pcv valve is up.

I Also have a 99 5.9 Slt and it did the same thing, it turned out to be the Map sensor. However, mine just quit and would not start and run right till I replaced the sensor unlike your intermittent problem. To test it, on a day it won't run just unplug the Map sensor and try to start it if it then starts and idles; however it will be poorly running, the Map sensor should be the problem. But do not leave it running long with the sensor unplugged. hope this helps.
