tow hooks
do durango's ( 1998-2003 ) come with front tow hooks. i noticed the cut-outs under the front bumper.is there a o.e.m. part number or is that an aftermarket option? any help would be appreciated, thanks
From what I understand they don't offer them anymore through the stealer. I tried to get some OEM hooks and couldn't, and that was straight out of the mouth of one of the parts guys at Dodge... [&:]
OEM tow hooks used to be available for up front. They were for the '01-'03 because the '98-'00 fasias never had the opening holes in them for the hooks. Not all but some of the later year ones did. They required a cross brace part to tie into and strengthen the front frame area. As correctly stated, they are no longer available. If you ever saw the setup, you would know why. It was fairly cumbersome.
Now, OEM hooks are STILL AVAILABLE for the rear.

hey Mike, you know the tow rope we broke... I'm liking that much better than a strap the more I think about it... If it breaks, you can fix it on the spot and keep going. I've priced out straps & for $40 bux you can get a smittybilt one rated for 30k from 4wheelparts.com, however if it breaks your screwed. I'm thinking I might get a 75' chunk of rope like what I have and weave it in a way that it's doubled up for about a 30' length rope...
anyways... heading out camping today, back up into the area where we wheeled last... there's another lake farther back with a primitive camp site that should be good. there's a hiking trail Louie & I will hike back to tomorrow morning. cant wait!

Have fun Steve. I like straps personally but I get what you're sayingabout the rope. I gotta clean the D out today since I'm done with the fan. Someboday gave me a toolbox that fits in the back perfectly so I need to go through everything and organize since it got bad from the fan install. After that I'm gonna pay $20 to get the carwash to clean that thick layer of dust out of my D from the trail.
