OBDII Code Retrieval without Scan Tool?
Can someone please tell me if it is possible to retrieve and reset OBDII codes without a Scan Tool? I have a 2000 Durango.I know Autozone will do it, but the closest one is40 miles.
Thanks in advance!

Yes. Get in the truck and turn the key to the on postion and back off 3 times with out start. The code will show up in the odometer. At least it works on mine. I do now know hwat it will do if there is more then one code.
One thing you missed, leave it in the on position on the 3rd turn and wirte down the codes it will go through all codes you have and when it is done will read pdone. You can reset it by d/c the negative battery cable or go to az and have them clear it with their scanner.
Thanks guys, I will give it a try tonight.
I have some sort of A/C problem. The compressor doesn't seem to kick on so it only blows outside temp air. It worked fine 2 days ago. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
