I'm a Ram owner however my brother says his '01 Durango sometimes won't start in Park and he has to go into Neutral, or jiggle the auto trans shifter to get the starter to engage. Dealer wants about $1350 to replace the steering column.

This sounds an awful lot like a neutral safety switch. Is there one and is it replaceable? Anybody got a pic or info, I'd appreciate it.
