getting my butt kicked on a stereo install
i am trying to install an after market cd player in my 98 durango because the factory one will play sometimes. i bought the install kit from scoche and wired it all up and it wont turn on i can unplug it and hook up the factory unit it and it works. i do have a question as to what the single wire that attaches to the chassis of the stereo is without it hooked up the factory unit wont turn on and there is no place for it on my aftermarket unit i believe this wire is what is giving me all the trouble. can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong or what i have over looked?

RE: getting my butt kicked on a stereo install
I have seen some of the aftermarket wiring harness that supposedly correctively map all the wires to the correct devices such as power, ground, speaker, etc. are not mapped correctly. You may have to check all the power leads on the aftermarket harness to confirm that power, turn on, ground etc are working.
