Default 2001 RT transmission swap to manual

Hi there group, I have a 2001 5.9 RT and the transmission has been acting up. Rather than get it rebuilt I would like to drop in a manual one. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Not do not typically go off road, but occasional towing. I would like to keep the current transfer case, as the full time awd is nice for the winter.

Thanks.

Nathan.

I don't think you will be able to find a OEM bolt-on manual tranny for the 5.9 engine. May have to be a custom made manual tranny which may cost you way more than you think as it must be made to fit the engine and your transfer case, etc....

Would much more less costly if you got a 4.7l 4x4 as they have a 5 speed manual tranny for the 4.7's. May be less work and it might bolt up with very little modification?

Guys the nv4500 is the way to go, it is a manual tranny for the Ram 5.9 magnums, It will be doing it myself when/if the time comes that I need a new tranny. I'm sick of auto's. A little FYI for you Mr, Go out and find a manual Dak in the junkyard to get the console that flows down onto the hump and has everything ready to bolt up, I would also use what I could as far as the clutch pedal and everything that entails. As for making it fit I imagine it will take some cutting, welding, and a new driveshaft. Please keep us updated as to how this goes if you do it as I am VERY interested in thi myself.
