I took my truck to Dodge to have the computer flashed and they told me since it was a used part that it could not be flashed,is this true or did they just feed me a line of crap.When they asked me why I was changing it I told them about it shutting down and displaing "no bus" and they actted like I was crazy and didn't have a clue on what I was talking about....I read on here all the time about people taking there trucks in and having the computer flashed to their truck what gives.in an eariler post I had said that the dealer I bought my truck from would have given me a computer out of a jeep of the same year,engine size and 4x4 I was told byMean Greenthat even that could be flashed and used on my truck,so why is Dodge telling me that the computer I have from a truck thats is the same as mine can't work.I told the guy that I trusted the members of this forum more than I did him and boy that really pissed him off all of a sudden he was like sure let me pull your truck in and I will see what I can do and I told that there was no way in hell I was going to let him take my truck there would be no telling how many new problems it would come back with.So how are you guys getting different computers flashed for your truck?

 

I havent heard of the dealer re-flashing a comp for a specific vehicle, not to say it isnt done, just havent heard of it. you may want to call B&G and ask them about it, they flash these things as a service for modded motors... high performance flashes to match a current motor configuration.

what is it that you need flashed into the pcm?

 

If they won't do it look into a different stealership, also as Steve stated B&G flash can do it for you. It will be a little more spendy than the dealer but you can get a good performance tune out of it whether you're stock, mildly modded, or heavily modded.
