Default Couple Problems/ Questions

I just purchased a used 99 durango and there seems to be a couple problems.

First of all, the mph gauge starts showing how fast your going at about 25 mph and the ABS/BRAKE lights are on. I think i found a fix- the rear wheel sensor, i will try that sometime later and see if that fix's it.
Second, when steering theres a point in the steering where when you steer, nothing happens (its a fairly large gap like 4 inches or so)
Third, there was no transmission oil, but I put some in (there was someproblems, like the engine would rev up but nothing would happen then a big clunck sort of feeling would happen and the car just all of a sudden jolted forward a bit) It seemed to be fine for a few days, but its now happening again (not as frequently however, but still happening)

I was wondering if there is an easy fix to these problems.

Also i dunno if this is how its supposed to be, my engine is a 5.2L V8, and it just doesnt seem to have the power a v8 would have, when im going about 30 mp5 and floor it, theres no boost in speed or anything like that, it just goes faster slowly but surely. (As in theres no like "uumph" of power or anything)

Thanks.

Also, I was wondering if there are any cheap/easy ways to maybe improve the gas mileage by a few miles.

Sounds to me like the tranny went too long without fluid. Check and make sure theres no leaks and maybe do a tranny flush. As for the other problems, Im not too sure.

Kaged it definitely has tranny issues at this point and I would make sure to get the dealer to fix it or get your money back. I'm almost positive the issue with it not taking off when you give it gas has to do with the tranny being in bad shape as well. I'm not too sure about your 4 inches of play in the steering wheel since I don't know a whole lot about the system. and you are dead on with the speed sensor being the culprit for the ABS light and speedo.
