I have a automatic 98 dodge durango 4x4 with a 5.9 ...I had a rusted out freeze out plug behind the trans bell housing so i had to take the trans out. while i have it out im going to do as much maintenance on the trans as possible while its out.. So i am replacing as many of the seals as i can, changing the trans filter and fluid.... so my question is should i replace the fluid in the torqe converter???? i know its not a normal thing to do that but since its already out would it be a good idea to do?

 

yes, change out all of the fluid.

 

I concurr, while it is already out, might as well get a peace of mind. If you didn't change out the fluid now, you would wish you would have later. I understand these days that budgets are a big item but sometimes it is worth a small sacrifice. Peace of mind is worth a few bucks of fluid.
