Default 4.7 plug replacement

I was looking at replacing the plugs soon and was wondering if I need some kind of extension to get to the plugs or maybe a different socket wrench. Seems like theres a lot of stuff in the way there. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks

undo the nut on the coil pack, wiggle out coil pack (it will come out be paitient) maybe before you get this far blow out around plugs with air to prevent dirt from going down into cylinder

once coil off (use a regular extension) drop down hole and undo the plug

very very very easy job!!! no special tools required, it just gets a little tight were the dipstick is for the tranny other than that you are home free

will take less than a hour

My D takes me 20 min. and that is gaping them to.

I love the 5.9L. As for the 4.7L they are easy. Just put the OEM plugs back it.

Thought I'd let you guys know how much fun I had with the plugs. Got to the 8 plug(the rear one by the dipstick) thought I was all done was puttin the pack back on and it wouldn't go on all the way. Turns out the rubber gasket from the plug socket somehow stayed on the plug. Needless to say 2 hours later I finally managed to get the damn thing off. Wasn't easy it got pressed down over the plug so I couldn't get the socket on it. Plugs were easy though. Figure I'll clean up the throttle body and idle control tomorrow.

Nice to see you back on the road again. I hate those damn bushings too.

Any plug recommendations? I hear the Bosch 4 tip plug has been very good. I used them in my 5.0 Mustang with great results.

I read alot about the replacements plugs, and kind of got scared off of the plats. I went with the autolites. They seem to be working fine.
