I did a bit of searching on the forum for this but wanted some clarification over what I've found-
My 2000 5.9L R/T Durango has an issue where the RPM's will jump by about 100 sporadically for a short time (ie a second or less) before dropping back down when at highway speed on level ground.
The concensus seems to be this is TPS related from what I've read, but I haven't seen anyone say this is definitely the case when it's specifically ONLY with cruise control (with cruise it will at times happen quite frequently). As soon as I disengage it and maintain speed manually, the problem NEVER happens. Is this still the TPS? (And excuse my ignorance but this is the "Throttle Position Sensor", correct?)
If so, it seems from the other threads I've found that they are a cheap and easy swap but I don't know anything about where they are located under the hood or how to change them. Can someone shed some light on the details involved? Maybe a pic or two?
Thanks,
KF
