Locking hubs were not a factory option, and I am not aware of any aftermarket offerings. Even if there were, it would most likely be quite pricey, and you would also need different front wheels if they were manually operated.
If you are looking for economy, the folks with the 2x4 D's don't see that much difference. In the case of the 4x4, the weight and aerodynamics would be the same, so any mpg gain would probably be minimal.
When I swapped from part time 4x4 to AWD, the MPG change was negligible
