My 2002 durango clunks when you let off the gas and imediately stops when you touch the gas. It only does this between 40mph and 20mph. I have tried to wigle both cvs and the driveshafts and none have any play in them. It feels like the noise is coming from the front left side. I also just took it to the dealer for the ball joint recall and they told me it has already been done.

 

Sounds like a U-joint.
