Did you get the battery yet? Keep us informed on the progress so we can help you out if needed.

I have not changed the battery yet, this weekend was our Christmas, so had to do the family thing. The O2 sensors that I used were plug in play.I will change the battery in the next couple of days, and take it for a drive. If it was the cat could I just run with out it? and how could I test if it is the Cat?

Well if you ran it without the cat you would def. throw codes without an 02 simulator. If your state/laws dont require nor you dont want it, you can get the simms from Fastman( http://www.thefastman.com/). If you think you need to replacethe cat, OEM isthe best, its already high flow and you wouldnt gain anything cept noise with any others. Honestly, i cant really put a way to test a cat. Varius suggestions usually include foul smells (rotten eggs), loose debris inside cat if shook, plugged issues loss of power/ loss of power at higher speed, rough idle... But none can be proven, except maybe the foul odor. Replace the battery first , and while your at it look over yourvacuum lines for any signs of leakage.

Just to do a quick follow up, after changing everything that I had listed above after about a month of driving the error codes disappeared. (Maybe the light burnt out)

I have replaced the heater core, but now am looking for instructions on how to change the front wheel bearings. THe truck is 4wd with ABS.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Flea,
Changing front wheel bearings are a snap. Remember the bearing comes as a bearing/spindle assembly so you dont have to press anything in.
1. Jack the D(wait thats doesant sound right...)
2. take off the rubber(Tire that is....)
3. remove the break caliper and bracket
4. remove the rotor
5. remove the 4 bolts behint the spindle
6.use a rubber deadblow hammer and hammer out the old spindle/bearing
7. tap the new spindle/bearing
8. replace the bolts with a criss cross pattern and then go reverse in the sgteps above.. it is honestly close to the easiest thing to do on a D next to change the oil.
Any questions let me know.

Thank you very much.

It sounds pretty straight forward, I will be trying it tomorrow. Thanks again
