Aftermarket Flares
Hey guys I got a 2000 D with a bit of a rust problem. I live in Chicago and with all the snow we've had the streets are filled with salt. I have some rust above my wheel wells and with the truck getting covered in salt I try and hose it off to keep the rest of the paint decent. Since I bought the truck last year I've wanted to put flares on the wheel wells and now the rust is getting worse and keeps spreading up. Instead of doing body work to cover it up and painting it (and anyone with a red truck if you've ever tried touching up the paint it is hard to match) I was going to put flares on because the flares would cover the rust completely. I would still sand the rust and treat it to stop it from spreading but I think this is my best bet. Long story short anyone had any good experience with aftermarket flares because the dealer is ridiculous. Any input would be appreciated.
Sorry to say there are not really any aftermarket flares that look close to stock availible for the 1rst gen Durango line under $349. I think the best deal would be searching around the local yards and see what you can pull up. Theres not much on the web withactuall descriptions or pictures. Our D's take a 6 piece kit due to the rear door. I've held several conversations with bushwacker for an off-road type and they have assured me that the r&d dept has recieved the request but can not promise it is even considered..
