Please Help w/ sick 99 Durago
I have a request for those of you who are mechanically inclined because I don't want to get yanked when I take my 99 Durango in for service. Here are my problems:
1. Sounds like a diesel when I start her up
2. Slight rattling noise when the car is just idling (I maintain an oil change every 3,000 miles w/ Quaker State Hi-Miles)
3. Slight rubbing or grinding sound in the rear. Can be heard when I brake however,
I've had rear brakes checked and they are fine.
4. Every now and again, my 99 sputters and strains to pick up speed
5. Over all, my 99 runs rough
6. Truck Roars like a lion(Sometimes)
7.And last but not least, the infamous CRUNCH and SQUEAK when I go over speed bumps.
Please give me some insight on what to do.....

It's hard to say. It's not that nobody wants to helps you, but there could be hundreds of different possabilities for your truck's problems. Those are the types of things that require a hands on type inspection to diagnose.
I am no mechanic, but the sputtering could be a blown intake gasket, and no you won't see oil leakage or black smoke. Have a mechanic check it out, as my 99 had a blown intake gasket and I never would have known(until the motor blewup that is) if I had not taken it to a mechanic because of it shutting down while driving. You might want them to look at your ball joints and tie rods too, as mine went bad already, and I had only 56,000 miles on it. Good luck.
Might wanna check if your Durango is on the recall list as your front end don't drop out and skid across the road whild your driving rear end could just be average wear and tear is taking it's toll mine 01 creaks here and there with under 50k miles not too concerned it's built on a truck chasis after all.
