Default Steering Column wiring issue

It started with the stereo controls and cruise control working erratically. Then the air bag light pinging on. Now the horn, stereo and cruise buttons do not work. Neither does the horn. But, the turn signals and O/D button works.
My initial guess is a loose ground cable somewhere. Anyone pinpoint the problem or the location of the ground cable? May stop me trying to tear out the air bag!!!

Your problem is almost certainly the clock spring. I experienced similar symptoms to those that you are experiencing. I had it diagnosed and replaced in the shop. As a matter of fact, the issues started as a progression from intermittent to all of the time.

The part isn't that expensive, but it is located directly behind the airbag, which was a repair that I would never attempt for a wide variety of reasons.
