cylinder 1 misfire
the check engine light recently came on in my 03 durango ....when i plugged it in to the scan tool ...i got a code that said clyinder 1 misfire ..this is consistant with how the engine feels ..it idles a lil rough...but doesnt seem to lack any power ...wat do u think could be my problem ...i consider myself to b a highly qualified mechanic but this one has me stumped ...point me in a direction please
i believe it is ...it doesnt say on the engine anywhere..all it says is dodge magnum V8...hopefully that helps ...i checked all the documentation the car has with it and i couldnt find the enigine size anywhere...could it possibly be an injector problem ....or possibly plugs and wires?
It is under the hood on the ID sticker. There should be three. It is usually located on the passenger side on the hood or the front clip in small writing on the top or bottom of the sticker. It should also have your spark plug gap info.
We really need to know your engine size first to answer your question. If you can't find the info just post a good pic of the motor.

It's called a coil over. On the 4.7L there is one for every plug.

The easy way to know is look for a distributor. The 5.9 motor does have one, and the 4.7 does not.
Could be a bad plug, or a bad coil. How many miles on the rig?? The oem Champion plugs are only rated to 30k. If you are much beyond that, they are toast and should be replaced ASAP.
A quick reminder that the heads are aluminum, so you will want to change the plugs when the heads are cool. A dab of no seize on the threads won't hurt either.
