Default Heater Core Removal

I had a heater core in my wife's durango fail a couple days ago so it became the weekend project. Got the dash out today but have not figured out how the heater core and housing come out. It appears that the entire unit should be easily removed but I cannot find any fasteners. Can anyone give me some guidance?

Thanks!

I am in a similar position.
Dash is out, I have removed 3 nuts from engine side of firewall.
I can wiggle the housing but it will not come out.
Seems like I am missing a nut or bolt somewhere.

Did you get yours done?

These posts look old but i'll see if i cant help. There are four nuts on the engine side of the firewall. Two can be seen easily, 1) close to the a/c's expansion core. 2) drive side, kinda funny angle, about the hight of the base of the valve cover. The hard ones; 3) coved by a bracket support for the heat hoses. This support is screwed onto the same bolt stud and is hard to remove because the tranny dip stick. 4) follow the tranny dipstick down a little further. all the other ones are all about the same hight but this one is about 4-6" lower. you have to feel for it. good luck. Not so sure if you have to disconnect the ac hoses(i did) but you for sure need to disconnect the heater hoses..
