Last month while sitting in idle my dodge durango just died the check engine light came on then went back off the same day, it started right back up and I didn't think much of it. Just last week it did the same thing but this time was a little harder to start, and the check engine light stayed on until the next day. This time I checked the codes and got the p0320 with the message (ignition/distributor engine speed input circuit). Other than those two occassions the car is running fine, with no other codes showing. Does anybody have any ideas on where the problem may be and how to fix it?

 

More details please, year, mileage and engine info needed. Could be a number of things causing the problem, But I'd start with the ignition coil first, then distributor cap (if you have one) spark plug wires, and finally plugs

 

It is a 2001 4.7L V8 automatic. 125000 miles.
