Default oil reccomendations?

hey i'm about to change the oil in my 99 slt plus 5.2l and i was wondering what oil you would reccomend?
it has ~112k miles and i just got the truck so i don't know how long it has been since it's been changed but it looks like it's been a while

so if a few could chime in and tell me what you use and why, i'd appreciate it!

thanks,

Default RE: oil reccomendations?

First just install any old 10-30 and a new filter. Run it for about 100 miles. Drain it! This will clean out the system pretty good.

Next use a good Fully Synthetic oil. Mobil One, Pensoil, are good. Do not use a blend because4 the is acually no difference between regular and blended oil properties. (well very little)

Get a good filter. You want to get either Dealer or I've seen some good reviews on Bosh. Stay away from cheap filters and definatly Fram.

Regular oil or blended oil is to be changed at 3000K intervals.

Fully Synthetic is 5000 thru 7500 depending on driving habits. Spend a little save a lot not to mention it's a lot better for your rigs. Wal-Mart is a great place to by oil. Fully Synthetic is about $20-$24 dollars for a 5 quart container. CHEAP!

There is a lot of info about oil in the search option at the top of the page. Justenter oil, and Durango 1st Generation.
