I was wondering if anyone has had this issue. I had one of the lugnut caps come off so I thought, ok, I will go and buy a replacement. I have bought 3 replacements lugnuts from 3 different autoparts stores and after 1 week or so they all rust. Of course the counter person always says they are stainless. They look the exact same as the ones that came with the durango, but those don't rust. Anyway, just curious if anyone had this issue or where they buy their replacement lug nuts from? Thanks.

 

hate to say it, but the only way ur going to get ones that dont rust is to go buy a set at you stealership and be careful what auto parts store you use some of them do not require intelligence to recieve a job

 

HAHA, that is what I figured. I even was looking on ebay for someone selling one or two from an old vehicle they had, but no luck. Anyway, thanks for the input.

i had to replace like half the lug nuts on my d. and a few on my neon. I figure that if you over torque them when installing the will caps fall off. I got my OEM replacements at carquest and havent seen any rust yet.

 

I had a cap come off of one of mine so I want to Advanced Auto Parts and got one that was exactly the same. It has not rusted.
