Dodge Durango Recall - Question - HELP!!!!
I have owned my 2000 Dodge Durango 5.9L V8 for three years and LOVE IT. That is until everything started going wrong with it. I recently had it to the dealer for the recall and had the upper ball joints replaced. I had never until that point heard a sound from the front of the car. Now, it is squeeking and creeking like an old lady. And, only from the driver's side and usually only when I turn right. I called the dealer and he said that the ball joints needed a break in period of at least 1000 miles. When I called another dealership they said that what I was told was not true and if it is making a noise I need to get it back to the dealer. Can someone please help me sort this out. Should I be hearing noise and if not what the heck is happening ??? Thank you!

If you hear noises and popping sounds even after they changed out the joints, you better take it back to them. My guess is either they forgot to replace one side of the joints or they fell asleep behind the wheel and re-installed the old joint! haha If you want to ease your concerns, you may want to take it to the other dealer that told you that was not true about break in period as my Durango was proof that after the replacement was performed, all my noises disappeared. Rides really good too now.
