I was looking at friends Durango and he wanted to know how much freon it takes to refill the system cause the stem in the low side pressure connector is hissing and looses a can like every week. Thanks ahead of time.

 

well i have had one take 2 cans to get cold air. but i think your friend should fix the leak rather than keep filling it.

 

Cool i know he can afford 2 cans lol. I'll fix the valve for him if he buys the freon lol.

 

It would be better if you use a gauge and fill it appropriately. If you don’t do this you can blow the compressor.

On the engine tab under the hood (sticker) it should say how many lbs of coolant it can have in the system.

Fix the leak first and don’t forget to buy a Freon that has the oil additive in it as well or you will need to add a/c oil into the lines for lubrication of the moving parts.
