also, i am searching online (currently checking autozone) and they do not list an exact fit plug n play for the after cat on the driver's side.... is this soemthing that isnt made? i do not like the universal ones where i need to splice.... it appears they offer all the otehr ones though? does it matter where the sensor is located? is it possible the pinouts are different?

does anyone here know what the oem would cost?

lets jsut assume that all plugs and wires are fine, and i am still getting the p0036, do i then need to change the after cat on the drivers side? or look into something else?

what i mean is your O2 sensor has 2 parts contained in one unit, the sensor itself and the heater for it. your problem is not in the sensor but the heater for it. dirt will not affect the heater. if you have any drivability problems it's gonna be in the 1st few minutes after you start it from cold or when you idle for a long period of time, the heater keeps the sensor at operating temp, 600/650 deg. it does this faster than the exhaust gas can hence better emissions. either way the heater in not working so, check the wiring and the connector, if they look good then replace the sensor.

change it, you may have to splice, i've heard of people not finding oem.

if you still get the code after replacement then the problem is in the wiring

p0036 is for the bank 1 sensor 2 heater only, nothing else can trigger this code.

ok, the otehr site i had the issues psoted on is back up... here is the post from there....

wheel works.... yup i used to work there, so i know they can be shady.... also used to work @ americas, and i know they are a lot better of a company

My wife took the durango in for 2 tires today... they quoted her $345 for 2 tires 31 Firestone destination LE tires... ok (sounds a little overpriced, but)

then they pretty much tried to hit her up for $1900 in service! which i think is a crock, but i am not too familiar with the durango....

they say it needs upper balljoints to the tune of $340 for labor and $212 for the parts

needs the pinion seal and diff cover gaskets replaced because they seep oil to the tune of $299, and reuse the current fluid :barf:

said she needs a left front bearing, $200 in labor and $250 for the part

needs a $100 tranny mount that will cost $100 in labor because hers is collapsed

a lot of that sounds liek a bunch of

are the bearings regular bearings that i can pack myself? what abotu the balljoints? that price seems stupid outrageous

the pinion seal and diff cover seals are fine, all domestics have some seepage, the oil level is fine, and shes got 90k-ish on it

they said they would do an alignment too, and take care of all of that today, to the tune of around $1900

p0036 is for the bank 1 sensor 2 heater only, nothing else can trigger this code.

so am i to understand that this isnt even a bad sensor then? but the heater (although its integrated) is the bad part... this doesnt indicate my cat is bad? could this code have resulted from having a leaking manifold?

i don't think anything is wrong with the converter, you would be getting different codes. electrical componets can fail from nothing but age. the materials used in these componets can break down over time, even from sitting on a shelf too long. thats the reason a lot of places won't warranty electrical componets. the leak could have possibly damaged wiring, thats one of the reasons i told you to check that first.
