Default transmission shift / converter lock-up

Greetings Oh great Men of Mopar,
Im a "old school" mopar man who had a 70 SuperBee as my first car. I have always loved Dodge Scat Pac cars. I just bought my wife a 2001 R/T Durango and love it, but thr tranmission has such a soft, mushie shift. Can I get a transmission shop to reprogram shift points or put a shift kit in it to get stronger shifts? In top gear it feels like it is just sliding in and out all the time.
What are my best options.
Thanks a lot brothers!

I believe the way the engineered the transmission is to actually slow down in revs during shift points so that the shifts do feel smoother. So I am guessing you could have your shift points changed, which might help but I am not that knowledgable with the trans.

I seen some of the speed chips that can help with the transmission shift such as the hypertech III programmer? check their site out to know more.
