Although there are ways to bypass the 02 sensors, what do you hope to gain my doing so??? Todays engine management systems are designed to run with input from the 02 sensors, and to remove that data from the equation will most likely have a negative result on both performance and fuel economy.

The only reason why I would entertain the thought of bypassing them would be if you were building some sort of off road vehicle for max performance with engine management that does not need thisinformation.

They usually last a long time, many times over 100k. That being said, my wifes 05 Grand Caravan had both reaplaced under warranty with less than 20k on the odo.
