R/T's engine blew up!?!?! have a few questions?? need help!

mine was a big chain reaction. the two piece intake gasket blew. sucked in oil. craked 2 valve springs ran num. 4 cyclinder super lein. burnt a hole the size of a 50 cent coin in piston. spent $3,200 for remaned 5.2L promar or proform "forgot the name" engine installed. local mechanic price shouldn't variy that much from 5.2 to 5.9

Try this link, Do not be alarmed I know it shows a 3.7 but it would'nt hurt to give them a call. The link shows a pretty detailed process for replacement, plus since you are in CT the company is in NJ so not too far away, With the thriving Metro NY/NJ area I am sure you are not the only Durango engine to have a catastrophic engine failure. If they do not have 5.9's available maybe they can get you in the direction of a place that can. Good luck!
I was bored one night and started e-baying durango parts, thats how I happened to run across this site, I have had no experience for business, but based on their site and photos of the process it sounds like it might be expensive but quality.

The first option is delivery to a destination with a forklift readily available. The second option is delivery of the engine to any location where you have access to a loading dock. The third option is to pick up the engine at a shipping depot. The fourth option is delivery of the engine, by truck equipped with a lift gate, to the address of your choice for $75 each way.

I can have my heads off the motor in 2 hours. It's not that hard to rip the motor out!
Like I said, REBUILD YOURS! You don't need a long block unless they can't fix it and you have to rip your motor out anyway. Just take it in and have it looked at. Most of the time you might have to pay a small fee but WTF you get your motor back. They can fix, mic, or whatever and NAPA will fix it to OEM.
At least have it looked at!

I would look into the oil pump as the culprit. If you can't rebuild the engine then take a look at www.thefastman.com Dan knows his MOPARS
