Transmission issues, need advice.
First off some info. The truck in question is a 99 5.2 Durango 4wd with a 46RE trans out of a 99 1500. I acquired a rebuildable core form my teacher at school and rebuilt it for the Durango. I was not aware at that time that the 5.2 and 5.9 transmissions were different and only found out this after having pulled the old trans from the truck. After a bit of research it was concluded that the 46RE would work with little problem and we went ahead and put it in.
The issue is that the shift pattern is erratic and reverse slips a touch under moderate to heavy power. I am leaning towards a computer issue as the valve body is in good shape. The problem here is that the 5.2 durangos use a single PCM and the 5.2 1500's have a ECU and a TCM so a simple computer swap is not possible.
I am hoping someone here may have some input as to some thing i can try that doesnt involve modifying anything.
If needed i can put this in the technical discussion, I figured i may get more help here as the Durangos and trucks are a bit different.
TIA,
Aaron
