2001 R/T AC clutch or compressor
Hello guys wondering if you can help. I noticed my ac clutch was looking burt up last time I changed the oil. Took the truck to work and the clutch burnt up "smoker" I took the clutch off and I am affraid to put the new one on. When I turn the shaft on the compressor it seems alittle stiff and make kind of a sandy sounding. I wonder if the compressor caused the clutch to burn up. any help would be great. Truck has 125,000 miles.

Id return the clutch and buy a new compressor. It really isnt that expensive and will take about an hour to change. You will also want to change out the evap canister. I bought a new compressor and evap can for 180 bucks and another 40 in r134a
you should really take it to a profossional to have the system discharged and recharged.
beside there being laws about how to collect the freon, if you do somthing wrong you might fry the new compressor. but just my 2 cents
