My mechanic says that somebody has put in the wrong band adjusting screw into my 99 durango. Does anybody have a source for this part?

What is your motor?

What kind of shifts do you have on the T-case?

4X4 or 2WD?

Thanks for explaining
5 positions: 2H, 4PT, 4FT, N, 4L
and it has the famous droping band anchor, which is pretty much what this is all about.
Traveling mechanic found the anchor in the pan. He put it back in and it lasted for a couple of weeks then the trany failed again. He then said he thought the adjusting "screw?" was to short and that's why the anchor fell out. That is asuming its fallen out again. So I would like to have a look myself. That involves taking of the pan, then the valve body I asume. Any tips on getting the valve body off without exploding springs and *****? And if the "wrong adjusting screw" theory is incorect, what else can cause the anchor to keep dropping out?
thanks in advance.

Liam
