ignition lock cylinder
Hi there first off i have searched the forums and cant find a solution to my problem...I have a 2001 dodge durango...recently, both sets of my keys have not worked in the ignition...key will go in but not turn...i j***le it and after a while it would work...
two days ago I put key in and it wont turn, i tried for an hour. Mechanic thinks the lock cylinder is done for. I dont want to pay several hundred dollars to have it towed and then replaced. SO i bought a new lock cylinder, but the problem is, you have to turn the the key into the "run" postion to get the retention tab to release with a screw driver. Other then drilling out the retention tab I am not sure of how else to release it. Anyone had this problem before or have any suggestions? I am game to them all. Thanks in advance
