ya i got the same thing so idk whats going on with that but hopefully they get it fixed back to the way it was

 

It's the over all kb size limit. It will only allow up to a certin kb in each post and then you have to post another time with the rest. If you want all of the pic's then you have to chage the overall size to a smaller amount so they don't top the limit for a single post.

 

I have a limit for total kb size on the forum. It looks like I'll only be able to post about 3 pictures throughout the entire site without deleting old ones. I guess photobucket will be my friend when it comes to this.

 

Thanks Mean Green! I tore out my front and back drivers side window motors. The rear one hasnt been working for years, and the front one just recently went out. And now they are working great!! I didnt follow the directions exactly though.

I couldnt find the damn brushes anywhere!! I went to every auto parts store in town, and even went to a guys shop who only fixes and rebuilds starters, alternators and misc electric motors. Even he couldnt find me a brush like that.

So, here is what i did: took everything apart as the directions said. then i got a nail file and cleaned up the copper contact that the brushes rub against. Then i took the springs out and stretched them out a bit to give them some more force. Put it all back together, and it worked fine.

New brushes would have been the ideal way to go, as this way is just a temp fix. but at least its working for the time being.

 

NP bud. I've gotta deal with my front passenger side as it is much slower than the others but has been that way since I got the D 3 years ago.

 

Mean Green--gonna try the window motor fix tomorrow. Just bought my 1999 Durango last week. Its an SLT+ with the 5.9 and its green like yours! Its loaded! It has 305000km (189 500miles) on it and it runs like a top! Can the rear wiper motor be repaired as well or is there a relay on it that goes bad or just get another one... any idea.

 

where the heck is the original post with the instuctions on how to get the motor/reg out? thanks!

 

Well as far as the rear wiper goes I imagine it would be able to be repaired in the same fashion. Any electric motor has brushes and they are usually the first thing to go out on a motor which causes failure. If you know anything about electrical testing you can check to make sure you have voltage going to the thing. If there is no voltage at the motor then I would start looking further upstream. I have also seen broken armatures being the culprit for the wipers not working. Pull the paneling off of the hatch and take a look at what you have. As far as the write yp I'm pretty sure it is in the DIY section.

 

POWER WINDOW FIXED!! gotta get a bone yard wiper motor though cause I had to destroy mine to get it out--the aluminum nut was seized on there. The old girl goes in for safety next week-gotta a windshield chip fixed too, but hopefully those are the only things it needs!
